John (John Boy) Weyiouanna was born June 5^th, 1973 on Shishmaref.  He was taught to carve by his father Alex Weyiouanna and by his uncle Steven Weyiouanna.  He carves whalebone almost exclusively, specializing in dancers and hunters that he carves from both vertebrae and rib bones.  His figures are notable for their expressive faces and lively, animated eyes.
