Blue Ivory Walrus and Whale Relief Carving View more work by Carl Pelowook
Blue, or "underwater ivory" is found by divers who search for the long-submerged pieces underwater. Many year underwater give the ivory its distinct, blue color. This tusk is carved in relief on each side, a tradition in the Pelowook family for at least three generations.
