In this piece, Kiyuklook has captured the movement of the whale as it leaps out of the surface of the water.  The whale is carved from walrus ivory with baleen inlay for the eyes.  Kiyuklook has creatively used a piece a underwater or "blue" fossil walrus ivory for the arctic sea.
