Seal ShamanView more work by Jerome Saclamana
Repeatedly, Saclamana proves his talents are imagination are unmatched. The shaman is carved from an old, deeply colored piece of fossil walrus ivory. The age of the material has caused deep, natural crevices and pitting. Where some artists would break this down into small pieces to avoid the imperfections, Saclamana embraces the natural form of the ivory. The rough surfaces contrast with the rich colors and imbue the work with touches of wisdom, beauty and timelessness.
